Golden Fu has officially become one of my top favorite spots for Chinese food. It’s a Chinese and Japanese style restaurant, and depending on what you’re in the mood for, they’ll prepare it accordingly. Just let them know what you're ordering and they’ll take care of it. The interior is really nice, clean, inviting, and spacious. They have a full sushi bar and a mix of both Chinese and Japanese style seating, which adds a cool vibe to the place. We went with the Chinese side of the menu and ordered chicken chow mein, pork fried rice, orange chicken, and sweet and sour pork. The food did not disappoint. The orange chicken and sweet and sour pork were super fresh and had that perfect crispy texture on the outside, with none of that chewy or soggy bite you sometimes get elsewhere. The sauces were flavorful without being overly sweet or heavy. The chicken chow mein was loaded with tender chicken, crunchy veggies, and perfectly cooked noodles that weren’t greasy at all. The flavor was balanced and savory, not too salty or bland. The pork fried rice was probably one of the best I’ve had in a long time. The rice was fluffy and full of flavor, with just the right amount of pork and egg mixed in. You could taste the wok style cooking in every bite. The staff was also amazing. I ended up ordering some extra food to go and they were super quick and friendly about it. You can tell they care about good service and quality food. Overall, it was a great experience. Great food, great service, and a place I’ll definitely be coming back to again soon.
Golden Fu Wah is consistently the best Chinese and Chinese-American in the county. I have never been disappointed by my experience here, and I am often impressed by the quality of the ingredients used to prepare dishes. On our most recent visit, we ordered orange chicken with broccoli, vegetable chow nein, and hot & sour soup. The chicken was tender and moist with sauce that was flavorful but not overly sweet. I could tell that real orange peel / zest had been used to flavor the sauce, not just sugar like budget places. The soup was perfect. Just the right consistency, not too watery or too thick. The spice hits on the first spoonful, and it stays with you without detracting from the flavor of the dish. I highly recommend Golden Fu Wah for a big lunch or a ... well, a big dinner, too. The portions are generous, and even though I'm a big eater, I always have leftovers. Be sure to ask for Sing if you call to place an order. She is super friendly, attentive, and always eager to make sure that customers feel welcome.
Came here for a late dinner. I was glad they were open. The food was pretty good and the dining was homey. Started with wonton soup which was simple and the wontons were made in house and not frozen. The large plates were as their name a great portion. They came with steamed broccoli which was cooked a little under which I appreciated. The ginger beef had fresh ginger and a good amount of it. We definitely had a lot of leftovers.
I’m unsure where to start, because there are so many standout and memorable moments it’s hard to know where to begin. The beginning, then, is perhaps the best place. I met my handsome date and we were immediately given menus and glasses of water. The waitress was eager to take our order but we let her know we needed time to peruse the robust menu before deciding what to order. There were a myriad of options and combinations, and we were told that all of the produce and meat/tofu was organic, which gave the place a charm and spoke to the care the owners’ held in the quality of food they provided. We ordered the szechuan green beans, basil tofu, mapo tofu, and sides of rice. The dishes came out quickly and were fresh, hot, and flavorful. We languished in each dish, which was perfectly seasoned and generously portioned. Because of the large portion sizes we weren’t able to finish our food, and the very kind women owner boxed everything up for us and presented us with fortune cookies. She also told us that she would give us two sesame black bean balls the next time we returned. The staff are incredibly kind, patient, thoughtful, and genuine. I will definitely return to Golden Fu Wah for my next tasty Chinese dinner.
Golden Fu Wah is still open! Despite the reviews that say CLOSED because it’s a sushi place, they still have Chinese. And it’s still the best Chinese food in the county. Huge portions, affordable, and great service.
Great food, very cozy interior. There are very budget effective (without any quality sacrifices) options for lunch and also a list of combo options for dinner.
Excellent food. Suggested order: Cumin Beef! (In case your don't read rest of the text, Just go there and order "Cumin Beef"). We visit this place frequently -really glad that we have a nice Chinese food place here. Many of their dishes that I tried so far had been great. Service is attentive. Another items that I highly recommend is Chicken Eggplant and Chinese Black Bean Fish. You may have had enough of the usual dishes like: Kung Pao Chicken, Orange Chicken, Mongolian Beef.... You can still get those. But, be a little adventurous, get Cumin Beef and I hope you will become a fan. The ambiance is nostalgic.
